Your Role: Shape the Future of Mobility Tech
We're transitioning from a legacy system to a modern microservices architecture, and you'll play a pivotal role in that transformation. Our tech stack includes Java 21+, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Azure Cloud.
You'll collaborate closely with a driven development team, designing software used by cities, municipalities, and police departments with real social impact.
Your responsibilities:
Lead the migration from legacy systems to a modern architecture
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications
Mentor junior developers and contribute to a high-performance engineering culture
Implement best practices for testing, automation, and CI/CD
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
Who are we looking for?
Must-have skills:
Must speak Dutch as well as English fluently
5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
Strong proficiency in Java 17+ (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot
Experience with designing scalable systems and APIs
Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication skills and a team mindset
Passion for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
Nice-to-have skills:
Experience with Apache Camel or integration frameworks
Knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
SaaS or B2B software experience
Familiarity with domain-driven and event-driven architecture
