The Role & Responsibilities
As a Building & Facilities Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of a new multi-product pharmaceutical production facility located near Brussels. You will be responsible for the architectural and facility concept, ensuring GMP compliance, optimal flows, and constructability across a ~10,900 m² multi-level building.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Owning the architectural and facilities concept supporting GMP zoning, people/material flows, and utilities routing
* Designing functional layouts including airlocks, interlocks, and segregation between filling suites
* Defining structural allowances and maintenance access (e.g., removable panels, heavy-lift routes)
* Developing fire protection concepts (sprinklers, gas extinguishers, smoke extraction) aligned with building codes and GMP finishes
* Sizing MEP plant rooms and routing corridors for clean and black utilities
* Coordinating clash-free 3D designs using tools like REVIT or Navisworks
* Delivering key documentation: Design Basis, Room Data Sheets (RDS), door/pressure matrix, space planning for AHUs, boilers, chillers, compressors
* Supporting constructability and site logistics planning (temporary facilities, phasing).
Skills & Qualifications
* You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Building Engineering, or a related field
* You have a proven experience in pharmaceutical cleanroom design (ISPE principles, GMP zoning)
* And a strong expertise in 3D coordination (REVIT, Navisworks)
* You are familiar with fire protection systems and building code compliance
* You have some experience in space planning for technical rooms and utility routing
* Clear and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
* You are fluent in both English and French (verbal and written).
