Energy & Turbomachinery Network (abbrev. ETN Global) is an international Brussels-based non-profit association working to accelerate the transition to Net-Zero energy systems. About the role
We are seeking a motivated Trainee to join our team for a six-month full-time Traineeship focused on energy policy. You will work closely with our Policy & Project Officer and our Communications Manager.
Tasks will include:
Monitoring key EU energy and industrial policy developments (e.g. IED 2.0, NZIA, ETS, Hydrogen & CCUS frameworks)
Developing expertise in energy-related policies outside of Europe in line with ETN Global's growth strategy
Following updates from DG Energy, Politico, LinkedIn/X, and institutional sources
Drafting concise policy updates for ETN Global's newsletter and LinkedIn
Developing and maintaining a contact database of EU institutions and member policy officers
Attending relevant Brussels events (ETIP SNET, SET Plan, ENZA meetings, EU stakeholder forums)
Supporting ETN Global's involvement in EU-funded projects
Supporting specific user meetings abroad
Assisting the ETN Global team with internal events and periods of high activity
Participating in weekly team meetings and proactively identifying areas of contribution
You will gain:

Development of analytical, communication and coordination skills within an international team
We are looking for:
Recent graduate (EU affairs, political science, energy policy, economics, engineering or similar)
Strong interest in EU policy, energy transition, industry and climate topics
Excellent oral and writing skills in English (corresponding to at least C1 level); additional languages are a plus
Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
Comfortable interacting with stakeholders
Flexibility to travel
Candidates must have a valid work permit to work in Belgium.

Monthly allowance of €1,200, plus full reimbursement of all work-related travel
