Accountant – Abbott Medical Belgium & Abbott SA

About the role
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Corporate Financial Services (CFS) team at our Belgium headquarters. In this role, you will act as the primary finance contact for Abbott Medical Belgium and Abbott SA, supporting accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and smooth collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.This position is ideal for a hands-on accountant who enjoys ownership, variety, and working in a dynamic, international environment.
Key responsibilities
1. Manage the month-end close process, including accruals and financial reviews
2. Analyze monthly actuals vs. benchmarks and investigate variances
3. Support balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance in close cooperation with the Shared Service Center
4. Act as a key contact for finance processes, supporting internal teams and external partners
5. Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and support requests from multiple stakeholders
6. Coordinate statutory and internal audits
7. Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ACRs
8. Serve as a liaison between Accounting and other Abbott divisions
What you bring
9. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
10. Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
11. Solid exposure to US GAAP and/or local statutory reporting
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
13. Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
14. Clear and confident communication skills
15. Fluency in English with a good level of French and/or Dutch
16. Proficiency in MS Excel; SAP knowledge is a plus
