Engagement Producer (Brussels)
POLITICO is seeking an experienced and analytical Engagement Producer with 3‑5 years of relevant professional experience to join our Europe Audience team.
In this full‑time, Brussels‑based position, you’ll play a central role in shaping how POLITICO’s journalism reaches, engages and grows its core audiences across platforms. Working closely with editors, reporters and fellow audience specialists, you’ll help ensure our reporting connects with the right readers at the right moment—from fast‑moving political news to in‑depth policy coverage.
The ideal candidate is an audience‑first thinker with strong news judgment, confident writing skills and a clear understanding of how data, distribution and editorial strategy intersect. You’ll be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven newsroom and using audience insights to inform editorial decisions.

What You’ll Do
* Develop and execute audience and distribution strategies to maximise the reach and impact of POLITICO’s journalism
* Work closely with editors, reporters and the Audience team to plan coverage for major news moments, live events and priority storylines
* Use audience data and analytics to inform decisions, test approaches and refine strategies over time
* Own daily distribution across key platforms, with a strong focus on reaching core professional audiences
* Write and oversee smart, engaging social copy that reflects POLITICO’s voice, experimenting with creative and “hacky” formats to spark conversation and increase engagement
* Advise and train reporters and editors on best practices for social media, helping them package stories effectively and reach wider professional audiences
* Create and oversee promotional plans that align with editorial priorities and audience needs
* Contribute to broader audience initiatives aimed at growing loyalty, habit and understanding of POLITICO’s readers
What You’ll Need
* 3‑5 years of experience in a newsroom, media organisation or audience‑focused role
* Professional‑level proficiency in English
* Strong writing and editing skills, with a solid grasp of POLITICO’s signature voice
* Sound news judgement and a demonstrated interest in European politics and policy
* Experience working with analytics tools to track performance and draw insights to help inform our company and newsroom goals
* Strong data synthesis skills to provide clear and actionable takeaways for editors
* Strong understanding of digital platforms and distribution channels (including social and on‑platform publishing)
* Ability to assess the competitive media landscape and apply relevant insights to audience and distribution strategies
* Confidence working collaboratively across teams in a busy newsroom environment
* A proactive, organised and curious mindset, with the ability to take ownership of projects
