We are seeking a doctoral research assistant for the Department of Social Sciences and Solvay Business School, Business Technology and Operations group, Data Analytics Lab.
* Lead research aimed at producing a doctoral thesis.
* Define and refine the research theme in collaboration with supervisor(s) at the start of the doctoral work.
* Contribute to the daily functioning of the department by assisting in teaching in courses such as Mathematics for Business Economics, Statistics for Business Economics, Decision Analytics, and Operations Research.
Profiel
Wat verwachten wij van jou?
* Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Applied Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Excellent proficiency in Dutch and English.
* Strong enthusiasm for teaching and motivated research.
* Proficient programming skills.
* No experience exceeding 12 months as an unpaid assistant within a grant‑based framework.
* Compliance with VUB visa and residency conditions for non‑EER applicants.

Aanbod
We offer a full‑time doctoral scholarship for 12 months, extendable up to a maximum of 48 months contingent on a positive evaluation of doctoral work, with a prospective start date of 15-09-2026. The scholarship amount is aligned with the government‑managed remuneration scale.
