As a Chinese Chef at Newrest, you’ll bring your expertise in Chinese cuisine to prepare and present exceptional dishes for our chinese airline client. Your skills will ensure high-quality, authentic meals that meet airline standards and delight passengers from around the world.
Responsibilities:
1. Master and execute a variety of authentic Chinese dishes.
2. Have the ability to demonstrate a complete understanding of the required menus
3. Prepare meats, fishes, pastas, side dishes and garnishes following recipes carefully
4. Roast, fry, steam, grill, bake meats, fishes, vegetables as required by recipes
5. Prepares food by cleaning, peeling, mincing, cutting, chopping, mixing portioning, measuring ingredients, packaging and labelling
6. Maintain proper food production records, ensure all equipment is operable
7. Responsible for sanitation and post-service set-up
8. Notify manager of any maintenance repairs need or unsafe conditions
9. Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability
10. Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods through food preparation and service to ensure that established temperature goals are met prior to steam table transfer and maintained throughout meal service
11. Studies recipes assigned by the Executive Chef, prepares and coordinates all meals
12. Coordinates preparation for the following day’s menus
13. Manage the prep list to plan duties
14. Ensures standard of recipes to maintain consistent quality
15. Assists in the coordination and execution of special menus for client presentations
16. Ensures all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean at all times
17. Wear food safety equipment while on duty, use work safety equipment
18. Maintain good portion control and forecast of production
19. Practice proper grooming, personal hygiene, and use safety equipment
20. Communicate effectively with kitchen personnel & other unit departments
21. Compliance with all company service standards, health & safety procedures, food safety requirements
22. Perform other duties as assigned
Perfil
23. Expertise in Chinese cuisine
24. Experience in a similar position in A known RESTAURANT or IN CATERING BUSINESS.
25. Ability to stand for long periods
26. Ability to read in English, write in English, speak in English
27. Good knowledge of HACCP is an asset (training will be provided otherwise)
28. Ability to handle pressure in a fast paced environment
29. Ability to work on weekends
