Hays is looking for a Program Manager for one of its clients, a global leader in advanced software solutions for managing electrical networks and supporting the energy transition. The company operates internationally and is recognized for its innovative IT/OT systems, including SCADA-based solutions, serving national-scale electricity grid operators. With a strong presence in Europe and a fast-growing business unit, the organization fosters a collaborative, multicultural environment and offers hybrid working arrangements. Reporting to the Head of Project Managers for Europe, you will be based in Huizingen and will be required to travel a few times per month within Europe.
Your new role
As Project Execution Lead, you will:
* Oversee the delivery and lifecycle of complex software projects across Northern Europe (Nordic countries and Belgium).
* Lead and coach a team of approximately 10 direct reports (Project Managers and Lifecycle Managers), ensuring successful execution of projects from initial delivery to long-term maintenance.
* Contribute to bid evaluations and resource planning in collaboration with the tender team.
* Act as the escalation point for major projects and participate in steering committees.
* Travel occasionally: approximately once per month to Oslo, quarterly to HQ in Germany, and as needed for customer meetings.
Your profile
To succeed in this role, you bring:
* A Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, business administration, or a related field.
* At least 10 years of experience managing complex IT/software projects, ideally within the energy or electricity sector.
* Proven people management skills and experience in international, matrix organizations.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to set realistic expectations with customers.
* Fluency in English and French is essential.
* Willingness to travel within Europe.
