Lead Platform Architect

* You design a future-oriented platform architecture while considering functional and non-functional requirements.
* You establish technology choices, architecture principles, standards, and guidelines.
* You identify and manage risks, dependencies, performance, and scalability challenges.
* You evaluate and introduce new technologies, including conducting POCs for feasibility and impact assessments.
* You translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical specifications and designs that meet business needs.
* You ensure security, performance, availability, and maintainability across the platform.
* You provide technical leadership to a team of 10–15 developers, guiding and inspiring them towards high-quality standards.
What are we looking for?
* You hold a
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical field
.
* You have at least
10 years of relevant experience
in software development and leadership roles.
* Strong experience designing and implementing
highly available, scalable cloud solutions
* Deep understanding of
cloud-native architectures
(microservices, containerization, serverless)
* Extensive hands-on experience with
Microsoft Azure
* Strong background in
.NET and the Microsoft ecosystem
* Solid expertise in
Docker and managed Kubernetes environments
* Experience designing
API-driven architectures
and modern integration patterns (REST, JSON, messaging)
* Strong understanding of application architecture, code structure, and architectural quality governance
* You are proficient in
English
and knowledgeable in Dutch.
Nice-to-Have / Differentiators
* Experience with event-driven architectures, event sourcing (e.g. Marten)
* Knowledge of GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, MassTransit
* Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
* Experience with Azure Infrastructure as Code, governance, and security
* Azure architecture and/or DevOps certifications
* Affinity with and interest in open-source ecosystems
