ASL Aviation Holdings is a global aviation services holding company with a fleet of more than 160 aircraft, focused on cargo and passenger airline operations, aircraft leasing and maintenance. ASL also owns its own EASA Part 145 aircraft maintenance organization, ASL Maintenance. The Technical Director & part CAMO/Part-M Postholder is responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of all technical operations and continuing airworthiness activities to ensure the objectives are met for the ASLB fleet.


The approved CAMO Postholder ensures full regulatory compliance with continuing airworthiness requirements, manages engineering, aircraft reliability, supervises maintenance planning and technical records functions to ensure high fleet safety, reliability and availability with minimum (un)-scheduled ground times and at optimal cost levels.


To ensure the Technical Department has sufficient & competent staff to fulfill their duties and to develop an inspirational working environment that motivates employees and ensures they can achieve their objectives and personal development goals.


To develop a strong network with sufficient capable manpower Agencies, CAMO/STC-, Maintenance and Engine/Components providers to serve both the short term (ad-hoc) needs and the availability in the long term.

Act as principal liaison with the Belgian, Austrian Civil Aviation Authorities and other regulatory bodies on airworthiness matters.


Main tasks and responsibilities

* Manage that each specific function of the Technical Department conducts their responsibility in compliance with the applicable EASA Part-CAMO/-M, Part-21/DOA and -145 requirements including the FAA regulations and any other procedure required and approved by the competent Authority.
* Oversee that the CAMO continuously develops timely and accurate Aircraft Maintenance Program approvals, the implementation of AD/SB/Mod’s and the control of timely defects/deferred items rectification.
* Ensuring effective coordination between ASLB-Commerce/Network planning and with ASL Group ESS and Asset Management, the timely allocation and preparation of the Line and Base maintenance events, either with ASLM or at 3rd-party MRO providers.
* Develop and monitor metrics tor the CAMO and Maintenance performances and drive measure when needed to achieve consistency in performance and achieve Company objectives.
* Oversee the development and continuous improvement of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and Maintenance policies, processes and procedures as required to optimise the successful delivery off the CAMO & Maintenance services.
* Develop and implementing a robust Safety Management System (SMS) and Continuing Airworthiness Management System with regular auditing of internal functions//external Suppliers are keeping to the required standards, and that ARC/audit/compliance non-conformities and/or safety occurrences have an adequate follow-up with root cause analysis and implementing corrective-/preventive measures within agreed timelines.
* Develop an adequate CAMO system for maintaining and the renewal of airworthiness certificates of aircraft operated by ASLB.
* Act as the principal liaison with the BCAA, Austro-Control or other regulatory body on airworthiness matters.
* To develop and implement a structure to continuously monitor fleet & asset performances and support strategic decisions for technical improvements (e.g. upgrades, reconfigurations).
* Put an adequate communication/review structure in place to ensure an optimal coordination between the Technical Department, the key Airline functions (FO, GO, OCC, Commerce, Fin depts, HR) and with the MRO suppliers, to monitor the operational performances and take actions to ensure a continued improvement of safety and reliability.
* Put an adequate technical supervision and review structure in place with key CAMO and Maintenance Suppliers for monitoring performances and adherence to ASL/Regulatory requirements, and for ensuring improvement actions that contribute to achieving operational, cost and quality & safety objectives.
* Ensuring that the fleet, engine & asset induction & redelivery schedules are carried out in accordance with the agreed timelines and cost levels and in compliance with the Regulatory, Lessor requirements and the ASL(B) standards
* Ensuring technical expertise regarding part-CAMO, Maintenance, Asset management costs & risks, to support Airlines aircraft acquisitions and/or ACMI/CMI lease biddings, that ensures a smooth, risk controlled introduction (or return) of ACMI/CMI leases with Customers and implementing a structure to continuously monitor performances to meet and/or exceed agreed targets.
* To develop and implement an effective Fleet & Asset management performance monitoring with an effective procurement in accordance with company policy for the new/renewal of contracts for CAMO & Maintenance services that will match the company service objectives and meeting the Regulatory/ASL(B) standards.
* To develop a structure for defining the technical budget, the continuous monitoring of cost development and implementing measures to achieve objectives for cost and productivity.
* To develop and implement a continuous cost optimization to ensure an effective use of technical resources including aircraft, parts, tooling, manpower and contracted assets & services, to secure competitive cost levels and optimizing the CAMO & Maintenance strategies while maintaining safety.
* Lead, motivate and develop the team members providing regular performance feedback, in order to maximise business results, employees’ satisfaction and team productivity and personal development.
* Maintain competence to ensure all CAMO staff timely receive the mandatory trainings and via continued education of their occupational and soft skills in their area of responsibility.

Essential Educational and / or Training Qualifications & Certificates

* Bachelors or Masters in related field.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (EASA, FAA, ICAO) and aircraft systems..
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Fluent in English and local language.


Preferred Experience and Knowledge

* 10+ years of CAMO and Contracting Management experience.
* 10+ years of experience managing multiple site aircraft maintenance including complex aircraft modifications.
* Proven track record of engineering and/or maintenance management roles in the aviation industry, demonstrating successful delivery and leadership capabilities.
