General information

Culture Moves Europe is a European cultural mobility scheme that has been running since 2022. From 2025 until 2028, 7.000 artists and cultural professionals will receive a mobility grant in all 41 Creative Europe countries.

The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.


What awaits you?

Culture Moves Europe has 2 different calls: the Calls Individual Mobility directly targeting artists and cultural professionals willing to implement a project in a different country, and the Calls for Residency Hosts targeting legal entities willing to host from 1 to 5 artists for a longer duration to implement a residency project.

The Grant team (currently composed of 7 full-time staff members) is the first point of contact for applicants/grantees and manages a wide range of tasks throughout the entire grant cycle (from the application stage until final reporting).


The tasks include:

* Liaise with applicants and beneficiaries regarding their specific questions, via email or via the Goethe-Application portal;
* Work on the assessment of applications: eligibility checks, contact and monitoring with evaluators, preparation of template messages and notifications, etc.
* Prepare grant agreements, amendments and payment for the beneficiaries, considering individual budgets, top-ups and accessibility support);
* Monitoring of mobilities and update of internal recording;
* Review activity reports after the mobility of the beneficiaries and prepare timely audit reports;
* Support with the organisation and facilitation of online info-sessions and other events;
* Support compiling data together with the Monitoring and Evaluation officer and the Deputy Project Manager;
* Develop internal guidelines together with the grant team and the compliance officer;
* Attend team meetings and define processes to improve the mobility scheme, together with the rest of the project team.


Other tasks

* Depending on the project’s needs, you could be involved with the work of other teams (communication, monitoring and evaluation, etc.)


What sets you apart?

* Interest in developing knowledge on grant management and for the cultural and creative sectors in Europe;
* Positive and proactive attitude and creative problem solver;
* Strong organizational skills, eye for detail, and ability to prioritize;
* Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1); German and other foreign language skills would be an advantage;
* Familiarity with results-oriented project management;
* Ability to work well independently and in a team with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds;
* Good IT skills, especially standard MS Office applications; advanced Excel knowledge will be an asset;
* Applicants with a non-linear career path and lifelong learners are encouraged to apply.

The Goethe-Institut Brussels offers a starting gross salary of 3.712€ to 4.046€ for the advertised position.
