A data engineer is crucial in designing, improving, and maintaining a central data platform.
Your Role: Data Architect
As a data architect, you will be responsible for setting up, managing, and continuously improving the data platform. Your goal is to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and secure, empowering the business to make informed decisions and enhance overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data Modeling and Engineering: Translate data requests into efficient, scalable solutions; design and maintain an Enterprise Data Model (EDM) as a semantic layer across all organizational data.
* Designing and Maintaining Data Pipelines: Build data pipelines and lakehouses on modern platforms (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
* Ensuring Data Quality: Ensure data quality, clear documentation, and strong governance practices.
* Data Access Management: Manage access to data environments in line with internal data policies.
* Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders.
* Reporting: Report to the Lead Data Engineer.
Your Profile:
* You have a Master's degree with at least 5 years of experience in data modeling (including Kimball methodology);
* You have strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and Pyspark;
* You have experience with modern data platforms and BI tools (Cognos, Power BI, Tableau);
* You can think abstractly and translate concepts into models and code;
* You are a proactive team player who gives and receives feedback constructively;
* You are familiar with GDPR and agile methodologies;
* You are focused on delivering value quickly, while building the EDM iteratively;
* You are fluent in Dutch and French.
