Mechanical Designer – English – Belgium
The Position
As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our teams and work on client projects located in Ghent.
As a Mechanical Designer, your main responsibilities will include:
• Design and develop enclosures for industrial applications using thermoset and thermoplastic materials, particularly glass fiber reinforced polyester (GFRP)
• Create and validate 3D models and 2D drawings using CREO and Winshill
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, manufacturing, quality) to ensure manufacturability, durability, and cost-effectiveness of enclosure designs
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (IP ratings, UL, CE) and client specifications
Your Profile
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent
• Proven experience in mechanical design of plastic enclosures, ideally working with both thermoset and thermoplastic materials
• Strong understanding of GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polyester) materials and their behavior under mechanical and environmental stress
• Experience with CREO and Winshill CAD tools is preferred.
• Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
• Language(s): Dutch and English
