Database Engineer Amoria Bond is currently recruiting a Database Engineer for a prestigious non‐profit data initiative supporting social‐impact organisations across Belgium. You will play a key role in the continued development of a large‐scale shared data platform used for policy analysis, academic research, and sector‐wide decision‐making.
Responsibilities Designing, implementing, and maintaining data ingestion pipelines from external partners into the central DataTrust platform
Managing and optimising all layers of the data architecture (SQL Server staging, ODS, Analysis Services cubes, Power BI models)
Developing and maintaining transformation logic and ETL processes (C#, ADF, SQL scripts, Python)
Enhancing and securing the hosting environment and cloud data infrastructure
Ensuring high levels of data quality through controls, validation mechanisms, and automated testing
Applying data‐security best practices at every stage of the data lifecycle
Building intuitive and robust Power BI visualisations for end‐users
Managing access roles, permissions, and user onboarding
Training technical users and providing documentation for future maintenance
Reporting progress to project stakeholders and translating requirements into technical solutions
Monitoring platform operations, resolving tickets, and contributing to continuous improvement
Skills & Experience Strong hands‐on experience with SQL Server, Analysis Services, ETL tooling and C# scripting
Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure cloud services, and modern data architectures
Experience with Python for automation and data transformation tasks
Solid understanding of data modelling, data quality, and data governance principles
Strong project coordination and communication skills
Fluency in at least two of the following languages: French, Dutch, English
Affinity with the social‐profit, public, or non‐profit sector (highly desirable)
Ability to work independently with a structured, quality‐oriented mindset
Ability to work remotely with occasional onsite presence in Brussels
