Webmaster (Proficient) – Digital Communication Specialist
Location: Brussels, Belgium (European Commission - DG EMPL)
Project Overview
Join the European Commission. You will play a vital role in giving maximum visibility to the Commission’s work in promoting quality employment and social inclusion. As a Proficient Webmaster, you will manage digital content across newsletters and policy websites to improve public awareness and trust in EU initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Content Creation & Editorial:
* Draft, proofread, and edit high-quality digital content in English.
* Create engaging content for websites, newsletters, and social media platforms.
* Ensure all content follows the European Commission’s official web writing guidelines.
Website & Newsletter Management:
* Perform daily management and updates of the DG EMPL website using Drupal.
* Manage the distribution of DG EMPL newsletters via the Newsroom tool.
* Adapt visuals, photos, and images specifically for web and newsletter formats.
Monitoring & Strategy:
* Implement the DG EMPL web strategy in coordination with management.
* Monitor and report on the performance results of newsletters and web traffic.
* Assist in media monitoring activities.
Coordination:
* Act as the primary point of contact for web update requests from various units within DG EMPL.
* Collaborate closely with social media, audiovisual, and press teams.
* Liaise with other DGs and DG COMM to ensure institutional alignment.
Required Profile
* Experience Level: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in tasks closely related to web management and digital communication.
* Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Drupal (CMS) and newsletter management tools (ideally Newsroom).
* Language Skills: Near-native or proficient command of English (drafting and editing skills are essential).
* Design Basics: Ability to adapt and optimize images and visuals for digital platforms.
* Soft Skills: Strong collaborative mindset for a multicultural environment and the ability to manage requests from multiple stakeholders.
Organizational Details
* Work Arrangement: On-site in Brussels (PPW status) with a provided workstation and regular IT access rights.
* Reporting: Monthly submission of presence timesheets and a final activity report upon project completion.
