As an Senior Linux Engineer, you will play a key role in managing, evolving, and securing Linux infrastructures.
You will work closely with development, software deployment, network, enterprise architecture, and IT security teams to ensure service availability, performance, and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities include:
Projects & Architecture
1. Participate in cross-functional IT projects (development, network, security, architecture teams).
2. Design and implement new applications based on Linux servers and/or container technologies (DevOps).
3. Conduct technical studies and market analysis to continuously improve compute and storage infrastructure.
4. Perform architecture and technology studies.
5. Define and execute Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
Systems Operations & Administration
6. Install, configure, and harden Red Hat Linux servers (physical and virtual).
7. Update automated deployment images.
8. Administer and monitor Linux infrastructure.
9. Perform OS troubleshooting and incident resolution.
10. Manage security patching and firmware updates.
11. Administer Red Hat Satellite for patch management.
12. Manage identities through Red Hat IdM.
13. Manage application service accounts.
14. Administer server certificates and configure SSH keys for non-interactive access.
15. Manage servers using Ansible.
16. Manage containers on Docker hosts and Kubernetes clusters.
17. Administer the OS of Oracle physical clusters.
IT Operations & Governance
18. Perform Incident and Problem Management (analysis, diagnosis, resolution).
19. Manage Change and Configuration processes.
20. Develop operational guidelines and procedures.
21. Define operational requirements (team structure, competencies, tools, CMDB, Knowledge Base, etc.).
22. Implement new operational solutions (production migration, documentation, operator training).
23. Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs to improve operational quality and efficiency.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
24. Assess training needs.
25. Develop training materials and courses.
26. Deliver training sessions.
27. Evaluate training effectiveness.
Your Profile:
28. Fluent English required; French is considered an asset.
29. Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with at least years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills
30. Strong expertise in Red Hat Linux (6.x, 7.x, 8.x).
31. Automation using Ansible.
32. Patch management with Satellite.
33. Scripting (Shell, Python, Playbooks).
34. System hardening and vulnerability management.
35. VMware virtualization environments.
Nice to Have
36. Experience in enterprise environments including SAN technologies.
37. VMware ESX / vCenter.
38. Hyperconverged infrastructures (e.g., Nutanix).
39. Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps practices.
40. Infrastructure as Code.
41. Cloud & Hybrid Cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
Methodology & Operational Skills
42. Strong knowledge of ITIL best practices.
43. Experience in ICT operations setup and SLA management.
44. Expertise in architecture and technology selection.
45. Proven experience in installation, configuration, testing, and operations.
