Overview
We are looking for an experienced RTR General Accounting Manager to lead a high-performing accounting team within a global finance environment. This is a key leadership role focused on driving process improvements, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple regions.
The Role
As part of the RTR (Record to Report) function, you will take ownership of general accounting operations, working closely with Global Business Services (GBS), BPO partners, and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in process optimisation, transformation initiatives, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
* Provide direction across general accounting processes and projects
* Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting
* Drive automation, standardisation, and process improvements
Governance & Compliance
* Maintain a strong internal control environment (SOX compliance)
* Ensure adherence to corporate policies and mitigate financial risks
Project & Change Management
* Lead system upgrades and process transformation initiatives
* Act as a change agent, driving continuous improvement
Team Leadership
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
* Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable culture
* Support onboarding, performance management, and succession planning
Performance & Reporting
* Monitor SLAs and KPIs in collaboration with BPO partners
* Use data insights to improve performance and align with business goals
Month-End & Reporting
* Oversee and sign off on VAT, inventory, and revenue processes
* Ensure compliance with local and international reporting requirements
About You
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
* Proven experience in general accounting and team leadership
* Strong knowledge of SOX, internal controls, and compliance frameworks
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Advanced Excel skills; SAP experience is a strong advantage
* Fluent in English and Dutch
* Highly organised with a mindset for continuous improvement
