Location: Leuven (BE) – with close collaboration across Munich and other European hubs
Overview
Guardsquare is the global leader in mobile application protection, safeguarding more than 6 billion mobile devices worldwide through a team of ~200 people. Our goal is to become the undisputed category leader in mobile application security over the next five years. We are looking for an exceptional VP of Engineering to drive this vision.
The Opportunity
Lead and scale an R&D organization of 100+ engineers, primarily in Leuven and Munich, with teams across other European hubs. Shape the engineering organization for international expansion, create alignment, and drive delivery across all teams while maintaining a culture of innovation and ownership.
What You Will Own
Leadership & Culture
Be the on‑site energizer and leader for engineers, fostering a highly motivated environment.
Instill a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and bias for action in R&D delivery.
Lead with clarity, high standards, and act hands‑on when necessary (firefighter mentality).
Organizational Growth & Execution
Evolve R&D into scalable, clearly‑owned engineering groups tailored for complex, research‑heavy product delivery.
Lead hiring, talent development and efficiently integrate acquisitions.
Ensure reliable, high‑quality product delivery and predictable releases, balancing exploration with market needs.
Advance a cohesive platform vision (protection, testing, threat telemetry, attestation).
Maintain strong technical credibility and guide the pragmatic adoption of modern tooling, including AI‑based tools.
Partner closely with the CTO to co‑design processes and translate strategy into execution.
