ServiceNow ITOM CMDB Expert
We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow ITOM CMDB expert to optimize our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This critical project aims to enhance our IT service management processes, improve operational efficiency, and provide a reliable foundation for informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB best practices, extensive experience with ITOM Visibility implementation and configuration, and a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define the discovery strategy, scope, and data sources to be integrated into the ServiceNow CMDB.
* Design and configure CMDB modules and workflows to support IT operations and service management.
* Lead the configuration and troubleshooting of ServiceNow Discovery to connect with various on-premises and cloud data sources, including Windows and Linux servers, Kubernetes clusters, databases, network appliances, and cloud platforms.
* Plan and execute the integration of different discovery sources, ensuring efficient and reliable data collection, and design the integration strategy for the CI/CD pipeline.
* Ensure the discovered data aligns with the defined CMDB data model and make recommendations for necessary extensions or modifications.
* Develop and implement data reconciliation processes to minimize discrepancies and maintain data accuracy, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of configuration items within the CMDB.
* Implement mechanisms to monitor the health, completeness, and performance of the discovery processes and the resulting CMDB data.
* Create comprehensive documentation, including discovery source configurations, integration guides, and data validation procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working with ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB, as well as a proven track record of establishing and developing a ServiceNow CMDB in a complex enterprise environment. They will also possess a deep understanding of CMDB foundational concepts and data modelling principles, strong understanding of ITIL processes, and technical knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities. Additionally, they will have hands-on experience integrating various data sources with ServiceNow Discovery using different methods and protocols, and familiarity with scripting languages relevant to CI/CD tools and ServiceNow.
