DW Akademie is hiring two experienced consultants to co-develop a practical, Arabic-language toolkit that equips Syrian civil society organizations (CSOs) and journalists—particularly youth and women—with the tools to identify and counter disinformation. The toolkit will serve as both a hands-on guide and a methodological resource rooted in recent interdisciplinary research and real-world media challenges in Syria.
Key Responsibilities
* Co-develop a context-specific, bilingual (Arabic toolkit with English summary) disinformation toolkit.
* Review and integrate findings from a recent interdisciplinary study on disinformation in Syria.
* Analyze and incorporate feedback from Syrian CSO and media stakeholders during a presentation event.
* Collaborate directly with the study team to ensure alignment and coherent knowledge transfer.
* Media and Information Literacy (MIL) concepts.
* Real-life examples and Syrian case studies.
* Interactive exercises and reflection tools.
* Step-by-step guidance for trainers and multipliers.
* Work closely with DW Akademie’s project team and integrate stakeholder feedback.
* Participate in at least two coordination meetings.
Qualifications
* Proven experience creating training or educational materials in MIL, disinformation, or civic education.
* Deep understanding of the Syrian media landscape, civil society, and regional dynamics.
* Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken); working knowledge of English.
* Experience in conflict-sensitive settings and awareness of digital safety and ethical concerns.
* Background in journalism and training delivery.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team.
* Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
