Functional Analyst – Banking & Insurance
Brussels Metropolitan Area (Hybrid model, minimum 3 days per week on site)

Join a major transformation program within the banking and insurance sector as a Functional Analyst. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that business requirements are clearly translated into robust, scalable functional solutions within complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
* Gather and analyze business needs from various stakeholders across banking and insurance domains
* Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications and structured documentation
* Model business processes and system interactions using UML methodology (use case, sequence, class diagrams, etc.)
* Contribute to the design, documentation, and maintenance of API interfaces (REST/SOAP) ensuring smooth integration between systems
* Ensure compatibility and alignment with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow
* Support development teams throughout the implementation phase with clear functional deliverables
* Coordinate functional testing activities and organize User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
* Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for functional issues and system behaviors
* Recommend and drive improvement initiatives across business processes, applications, and data flows
Your profile
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a role such as Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Developer, or Integration Consultant, ideally within banking and/or insurance environments
* Excellent analytical and structuring abilities with strong documentation skills
* Solid experience with UML modeling tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Lucidchart, or similar)
* Strong understanding and hands-on experience with API concepts (RESTful/SOAP, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman)
* Good knowledge of SQL, Excel, and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python)
* Familiarity with enterprise environments and data-driven systems
* Understanding of application lifecycle management practices
* Exposure to Cloud technologies (Azure) and containerization platforms such as Kubernetes is a plus
* Fluent in English and native in French and/or Dutch
Interview process
* A first phone call (5–10 minutes) to understand your expectations and career goals
* A first interview with a Digital Sales Manager to present eXalt and discuss your background (45 minutes)
* A second meeting with a Senior Business Manager to explore client contexts and potential missions (45 min – 1 hour)
* A final interview with one of our co-founders to review your positioning and expertise (45 minutes)
