Join the Foodology team as a Technical Sales Manager, where you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth by delivering essential technical services to industry customers. Employing a consultative approach, you will evaluate customer needs and differentiate Univar Solutions from the competition by showcasing our unique advantages.
In this role, you will foster long-term partnerships with customers through your industry knowledge and expertise, using Univar’s resources to develop tailored solutions that meet customer requirements while capturing valuable market intelligence.
What you’ll do
* Develop effective customer relationships and actively seek new product opportunities.
* Prepare technical presentations and support the customer's R&D department.
* Visit customers, build relationships, and establish reliability.
* Follow the sales cycle (proposals, samples, visits, etc.).
* Develop new perspectives proactively, supervise competitive activity, and generate product/service application solutions.
* Represent suppliers and exchange market information effectively between the main trading partners, while maintaining compliance standards.
* Constantly monitor the market by mapping technological innovations, regulatory updates, and reference legislation.
* Keep the CRM system up to date, generating "Target Business Opportunities" that ensure growth.
* Participate in industry-related meetings, trade shows, and teleconferences.
* Support the development of business plans, including goals and forecasts.
* Assist with new product launches.
* Assist in the qualification of potential new suppliers/products.
What you’ll need
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or Food Chemistry preferred).
* Minimum 3 years of experience with technical product and formulation knowledge.
* Proven technical knowledge in the Food Ingredients (raw chemicals) industry. Experience with enzymes and starches is advantageous.
* Experience servicing customers at multiple levels, both internal and external, and supplier partners is advantageous.
* Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are vital.
* Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with strong planning and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
* Flexibility to accept evolving responsibilities as the organization grows.
* Fluent in English and French; Dutch is advantageous but not required.
* Ability to travel up to 50%.
