Role Overview
As a Area Finance Senior Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving North West business performance and strategic growth. You will partner closely with North West leadership team as well as working with European teams, embedding Mars’ Five Principles—Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom—into every financial insight and recommendation you provide.
Your role will be to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable strategies that empower decision-makers and foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and sustainable value creation.

Key responsibilities
· Strategic Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering
§ Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, driving financial conversations that align with strategic priorities and the Five Principles.
§ Lead cross-functional collaboration initiatives, fostering Mutuality and shared ownership of financial outcomes.
§ Influence and challenge stakeholders constructively, ensuring decisions are grounded in robust financial analysis and aligned with Mars’ commitment to Responsibility and Quality.
§ Facilitate alignment between finance and business teams to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.
· Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
§ Own and lead the end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for the North West - working closely with central functions, including FP&A
§ Deliver insightful periodic, quarterly, and annual financial updates with clear narratives that highlight performance drivers, risks, and opportunities
· Provide deep-dive analysis into financial results, market trends, and operational metrics, ensuring all outputs meet Mars’ high standards of Quality and Responsibility.
· Prepare and present compelling financial insights to senior leadership and governance bodies, fostering transparency and informed decision-making.
· Leadership & Development
o Mentor and develop junior finance professionals, promoting a culture of learning, curiosity, and adherence to Mars’ principles.
o Act as a role model for Mars’ values, encouraging ethical behavior, mutual respect, and empowerment across teams.
Knowledge & Experience
Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience, with extensive exposure to business partnering and FP&A
Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving business partnering excellence.
Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise financial planning tools (e.g., Oracle, Anaplan) is desirable.
Strategic and critical thinking with a focus on long-term value creation.
Proactive, results-driven, and adaptable mindset.
