We are currently recruiting an HR Business Partner (12 month Fixed-term contract) for our Retail population in Madrid. You will regularly visit your stores to build strong, trusted relationships and ensure the smooth running of people processes.
The role of the HR Business Partner is to act as a role model for all UNIQLO and Fast Retailing values and principles, coaching managers in formal and informal HR procedure, developing through coaching their people management skills, and delivering the valuable HR services to our store staff.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys HR Business Partnering coming directly from a Retail or Hospitality background who wants to develop within a fast moving and operational role. As a Retail HR Business Partner you’ll partner closely with Store Operations teams, supporting line managers with daily HR operations and delivering an exceptional HR service to your local stores across.
What you will be responsible for:
* Partner with Store Operations to support organisation design, workforce planning and day-to-day HR for Madrid stores.
* Ensure HR policies, processes and compliance are applied consistently through store visits, audits, training and clear communication.
* Lead recruitment planning for Madrid stores (incl. openings), partnering with EU Talent Acquisition and local recruitment team on sourcing, selection and manager coaching.
* Drive engagement, retention and people development initiatives; facilitate relevant training.
* Manage employee relations cases and coach managers on effective people management aligned with policy and local legislation.
* Support employee representative topics and health & safety committees; escalate risks and ensure collective agreements are respected.
* Continuously improve tools and ways of working, collaborating across the EU HR community.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
* 3–5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
* Retail or Hospitality is required
* Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is a mandatory requirement due to daily business needs
* Proven experience coaching and supporting managers on people management topics, including performance, engagement, absence, and employee relations
* Confident advising and influencing stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships
* Experience working within an international or matrixed HR team would be highly advantageous
* Strong communication and listening skills, with a practical and solution-focused approach
* Customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in developing people and teams
* Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
* Resilient, proactive, and able to take ownership of priorities and outcomes
