About the Role:
Our customer is looking for an experienced Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) Consultant to support their Business Information Systems (BIS) organization. The consultant will be responsible for assessing current continuity and recovery capabilities across infrastructure, applications, service providers, and physical locations, identifying gaps, and designing a fit-for-purpose BCP/DR framework.
This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will work cross-functionally with infrastructure teams, application owners, external service providers, and business stakeholders to ensure resilience across critical IT services and systems.
Responsibilities:
* Lead a comprehensive assessment of BCP and DR readiness across the entire BIS landscape.
* Identify business-critical systems and define RTO/RPO targets in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Analyze current infrastructure, applications, locations, and service providers to detect weaknesses and gaps in continuity and recovery processes.
* Design and document a robust BCP and DR framework, aligned with industry best practices and the customer's risk appetite.
* Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure BCP/DR coverage of:
* Network and Cloud environments (Azure, AWS, AD, OKTA, etc.)
* On-prem and remote locations including corporate offices and labs.
* Ensure business application continuity for tools such as:
* Microsoft Teams, SharePoint
* ERP, CRM systems
* SAP, PA Sase, and other core platforms.
* Coordinate with OSS and other service providers to align recovery procedures and responsibilities.
* Propose testing strategies and governance for BCP/DR plans.
* Provide training, awareness, and documentation to ensure business adoption.
Profile:
* Proven experience (5+ years) in BCP and Disaster Recovery consulting or architecture within complex IT environments.
* Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructures, cloud services (Azure, AWS), and identity/access solutions (OKTA, AD).
* Experience designing continuity strategies for enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, SAP, Microsoft 365).
* Knowledge of physical site contingency planning (e.g., lab, office recovery strategies).
* Ability to liaise effectively with technical teams, service providers, and non-technical business stakeholders.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to turn assessments into actionable and pragmatic designs.
* Experience in regulated environments (e.g., pharmaceutical or biotech) is a plus.
