DSRD is imec's core system and ICdevelopment organization, leading advanced architecture, ASIC design, electronics development, and verification across a large international R&D footprint. While it collaborates with several researchfocused business lines, it works especially closely with ICLink, imec's ASIC and manufacturing services arm, ensuring strong alignment between DSRD's design capabilities and ICLink's endtoend semiconductor development needs.
What you will do
Your responsibilities will include:
* Structurally analyze and understand requirements, specifications, and existing design inputs of our customers' ASIC projects.
* Complement missing or immature parts of those specifications to achieve a coherent whole, considering customer Power-Performance-Area-Cost targets and technology constraints.
* Define and conduct feasibility studies to find the optimal solution.
* Identify and align internal and external teams for design of software& hardware (including IP integration) and production.
* Contribute to a technical statement of work including timeline, work packages, milestones, and deliverables in close cooperation with customers, project managers and business development.
* Supervision or management of project execution when necessary.
* Know the ecosystem and stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in ASIC design methodologies.
* Contribute to improved ways of work and shared knowledge.

Who you are
We are looking for a self-motivated and creative team member; a quick learner eager to share his/her knowledge. In this position (s)he should have a good understanding of the ASIC design flow as well as the tools involved. Previous experience in ASIC architecture is required. Good awareness of the IP available on the market, including in advanced nodes, would be an asset.
* You have a Master's or PhD degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
* Extensive experience (10+ years) in ASIC design, including architecture definition and low-level hardware design.
* Solid understanding of ASIC development flows, from concept to production, including verification and validation methodologies.
* You enjoy creating technical documents.
* Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDLs) or system level modelling is an asset.
* You are interested in working in a flexible service environment.
* You are enthusiastic about contributing to a customer's goals.
