Job Description
Oversee and optimise daily distribution centre operations, ensuring full compliance while fostering ongoing improvements aligned with key goals for workforce development, service excellence, operational efficiency, and cost management.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
* Plan, lead, and optimise DC operations for efficiency, service, and cost alignment.
* Oversee loss prevention strategies through training and regular follow-up.
* Set, facilitate, and monitor goals in accordance with H&M global standards and KPIs.
People Management & Team Development
* Lead, coach and develop the DC Management Team to retain a high-performing workforce.
* Drive employee engagement and foster a culture of inclusion and diversity.
Workforce Strategy & Planning
* Ensure recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training for all DC staff.
Financial Planning & Cost Management
* Control costs by meeting site cost KPIs and maintaining visibility of labour hours and building efficiency.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
* Collaborate with Regional Sales & Operations teams to align DC with sales volumes and service expectations.
* Work with sales stakeholders to ensure garment care, monitor routines, and follow up on return conditions.
Process & Workflow Optimisation
* Implement improvement opportunities to enhance performance and service levels.
Performance Analysis & Decision Support
* Ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment through regular performance reviews and reporting
Compliance, Risk & Governance
* Ensure high stock accuracy through systematic inventory management.
* Ensure adherence to H&M’s Standard Operating Principles and local laws.
* Identify and resolve operational risks to maintain high performance.
* Handle legal, safety, or security issues professionally with clear escalation paths.
* Drive follow-up and action plans around audits, check-ins, and safety inspections.
Health, Safety & Sustainability
* Lead the DC’s Health & Safety strategy and manage incident reporting protocols.
* Promote a safe, healthy, and positive work environment aligned with H&M Group’s Human Rights principles.
* Implement sustainability initiatives to minimise waste and environmental impact.
Qualifications
* Ability to Inspire and lead large, diverse teams effectively communicating, collaborating and co-creating a long-term strategic vision with short term actions and day to day objectives.
* Manage high-level leaders, understanding HR principles like succession planning and performance management.
* Foster a culture of diversity, trust, openness, and inclusion in an empathetic, proactive and positive manner.
* Develop others, coach across all levels, and create an environment of accountability and growth.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, HR, Controlling, and Sustainability teams.
* Effective presentation and communication skills in varying forums with senior stakeholders, and internal/eternal partners.
* Expertise in running large DC operations with an understanding of local specifics.
* Broad knowledge of Controlling, Operations, Systems, HR, Staffing, Security, Health & Safety, and their interconnectivity.
* Lead with strategic agility while maintaining operational excellence and understanding daily performance metrics.
* Fluent in both French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
* Proven experience in collaborating with unions and maintaining constructive labor relations.

This is a full-time position based on our Distribution Center in Ghlin (Belgium).
