PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting directly to the Director of Flight Operations (DFO), the Deputy Director of Flight Operations supports the management, safety oversight, and operational performance of the Flight Operations Department. The role ensures regulatory compliance, budget control, staffing adequacy, and high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency across all flight operations.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Main tasks and responsibilities
·The position holder reports directly to the Director of Flight Operations.
They assist the Director in supervising and coordinating various teams working in diverse fields.
They ensure an administrative working schedule that allows them to handle all files and procedures related to their responsibilities.
·As a priority, the position holder ensures a high level of safety and security in flight operations in coordination with the relevant managers.
They contribute to the safety, security, and quality policy defined by the company in the context of flight operations.
·In their role as Deputy Director of Flight Operations, the position holder is involved in the preparation and follow-up of all management files of the Flight Operations Department.
They may at any time deputize for the Director of Flight Operations, within the scope of the delegations granted, to ensure amendments or follow-up actions.
·Assist in periodic meetings in coordination with the Human Resources Director and attend them in the absence of the Director of Flight Operations. Due to the nature of the files handled, strict confidentiality is required.
·Support and deputize for the DFO in all operational, safety, and management matters.
·Ensure a high level of flight safety, security, and regulatory compliance (PN, FTL, OPS).
·By delegation, the position holder participates in supervising teams of employees with varying levels of autonomy working in different fields: Crew Admin Support, Flight Ops Engineering Office, Traffic Rights & Slots, Documentation and Dispatch.
·Assist in managing and monitoring the Flight Operations budget and activity reporting.
·Assist in supervising regulatory compliance and flight crew employment conditions.
·Act as a key backup interface with Human Resources, Quality, and external stakeholders.
·(Assists in social dialogue and negotiations with flight crew representatives).
·Oversee purchasing and subcontracting related to flight operations.
·Ensure quality system compliance and corrective action follow-up.
Assisting Projects
·To manage all special projects that have been allocated by the Director Flight Operations.

·To motivate the staff as well as deal with personnel issues and take appropriate actions to ensure continuity in staff performance to ensure a high quality of services is maintained.

·To ensure that the responsibilities and objectives of the reported staff are clearly defined ant their accountability for performance expressly understood.

·To create a relationship and communicate with other departments and subcontractors to ensure effective and efficient co-operation aiming to improve overall company performance.

REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Educational and / or Training Qualifications & Certificates
•Valid Flight Crew License and the associated ratings appropriate to a type of operation conducted under the AOC.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge (number of years, type of experience)
•Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience within a major airline environment, preferably Flight Operations.
•Organizational awareness (structure and products and services).
•Understanding of communication requirements in a multi-cultural environment.
