Context
We are looking for an experienced IT System Administrator to join the IT Infrastructure Team responsible for local user support and a small on-premises datacentre hosting business-critical applications, with ongoing cloud migration initiatives.
This is a structured, high-security, multicultural environment with strong standards in service continuity, documentation, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Administration of DG-specific infrastructures (file & print services, Remote Desktop Services, hosted applications)
* Second-level user support
* Installation and configuration of servers, NAS, SAN, and network equipment
* Patch management and system configuration
* Infrastructure and server monitoring
* Incident, change, request, and problem management (ITSM processes)
* Backup and restore operations
* Participation in architecture reviews
* Drafting technical documentation and operational procedures
* Implementation and monitoring of security standards
* Participation in coordination and project meetings
* Interaction with business analysts, users, project leaders, developers, and central IT services
* Automation through scripting
* Advising on capacity planning, IT continuity, security, and optimisation
Required Technical Expertise
Infrastructure & Virtualisation
* Minimum 5 years of experience with VMware products and tools
* Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
* Server and storage administration (SAN/NAS)
Microsoft Technologies
* Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Server
* Active Directory
* PowerShell
* Required certification:
* Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Linux
* Minimum 2 years of experience
* Linux certification is an asset
Networking
* WAN/LAN routing, redundancy, bandwidth management
* Connectivity troubleshooting
Cloud & Automation
* Cloud integration and management knowledge
* Python and SQL for automation
* AWS certifications are advantageous:
* AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
* AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
Security & Business Continuity
* Risk assessment and threat mitigation
* Compliance and data protection
* Disaster recovery and business continuity implementation

Education & Experience
* Minimum education level: Bachelor's degree (EQF Level 6) or equivalent (minimum 3 years of higher education)
* At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in system administration
