High Voltage Products is a business unit within Hitachi Energy. The business unit develops, manufactures, and markets high voltage products for HVAC and HVDC systems, such as surge arresters, breakers, instrument transformers, capacitors, cooling systems, and cable accessories. This position is dedicated to managing the developing team in Belgium working on product and process development of film capacitors.
Your responsibilities:
1. You will lead the R&D team for film capacitors in the BE Technology Center, part of our Grid Components Technology Center (CH/BE/SE).
2. Support project managers and R&D engineers in developing the next generation capacitors.
3. Manage resources and ensure regular reporting of projects.
4. Function as a manager working with the global R&D team to ensure knowledge sharing and high-quality, timely deliverables.
5. Promote collaboration with our Power Grids Research organization and academia.
6. Ensure ideas and models generated by the team are properly documented and registered.
7. Document results in technical reports, presentations, IP, etc.

Your background:
1. Degree in dielectrics, HV physics, or electrotechnology; PhD or MSc with relevant experience.
2. Ideally 3 years experience in film capacitors, metallization products, or processes.
3. Experience in modeling and characterization of HV capacitors or HV devices with solid insulation is an advantage.
4. Strong analytical skills and experience with experiments.
5. Ability to work across technical areas such as materials, insulation, thermal management, and multiphysics.
6. Project management and technical leadership skills development.
7. People management and team collaboration skills.
8. Good oral and written communication skills.
9. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
