BCR (Barco Control Rooms)
The Barco Control Rooms business unit is making workflow and visualization solutions for the Control Room market since to help operators collect, visualize and share critical information for optimal mission-critical decision making. Today, we are still the number one choice for control room professionals who want to stay on top of their situational awareness with + installations for critical infrastructure and critical operations.
Barco Control Display
The display department of the Barco Control division is at the forefront of creating high end large video walls, based on LCD and LED technology.
We are a growing, international team mainly located in Kortrijk (Belgium), Noida (India), Shenzen (China).
Function:
The FPGA design engineer develops VHDL code that runs on FPGA used in our patforms. You will be responsible for creating high-quality firmware deliverables in a timely manner, according to the state-of-the-art design methodologies and as part of the global solution software architecture, and for creating the automated test-cases to verify the quality of the software.
The FPGA design engineer collaborates closely with the Software Development Engineers of our other sites, which is critical for success. You will be confronted with a large range of technologies, development languages, network elements, hardware components, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
As FPGA design engineer you will...
1. Analyze the product requirements and translate them into specifications and quality designs
2. Document and implemented design architectures
3. Create your test benches and tools to test the designed functionality in and out context.
4. Manage PIN assignments and power house holding of the FPGA
5. Manage timing closure of the design to meet processing speed requirements
6. Design proof of concepts of new features (VHDL and SW)
7. Implement high speed serial links up to 25Gbps
8. Be the interface between the hardware and application SW that run on our embedded system.
9. Optimize execution, robustness, and use of system resources
10. Be responsible for one or more software components
11. Collaborate with the testers to identify open issues
12. Keep track of bugs and fix open issues
13. Provide proficient documentation for the developed software modules/drivers
14. Support the creation of realistic development plans by estimating the necessary amount of work and time
15. Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization’s Agile project lifecycle
We are looking for a Barco employee who:
16. Holds a master's or bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in FPGA development and is a strong conceptual thinker, able to lift the discussion to the right level of abstraction
17. Is attracted by system complexity and eager to find ways to get the related system quality under control
18. Likes to take initiative, work in close collaboration with fellow developers and share your ideas and knowledge. Has hands on mentality and is not afraid to investigate the hardware he/she is programming for
19. Possesses analytical skills and eye for detail and quality
20. Has experience with VHDL/Verilog/C/C++/C#, Object-oriented programming
21. Has knowledge of:
22. Altera and Xilinx FPGA’s, others are a plus AXI bus Basic communication protocols: I2C, UART, SPI DDR3/4/5 usage: MIG configuration Image processing basics Network communication Embedded controllers: ARM or soft processors HDMI/DP/SDI/MIPI standards
23. Basic encryption techniques used.
