As our Data Engineer, you join our ICT team and support the growth of Lotus Bakeries through the implementation, development, support and optimization of our data infrastructure.
1. As a key player in the Lotus Bakeries application team, you will act as our expert in the data domain. In this role you take ownership of the reporting roadmap, data architecture (including data lakes) and data governance. You support, enhance and introduce the reporting capabilities at the different locations of the Lotus Bakeries Group.
2. Our Lotus business has a growing need for advanced data‑driven decision tools. To support this, you will build new data capabilities on our Databricks platform, leveraging modern data engineering and AI.
3. You will also work closely with our Lotus SAP BW and dashboarding colleagues to integrate these new capabilities with our existing SAP BW on HANA data warehouse and reporting ecosystem.
4. You act as a key contact towards the business stakeholders, providing them with the required consultancy, recommendations and IT services. You guide, assist and coach the internal stakeholders.
5. The data engineer will manage ICT data initiatives within his/her domain and gives third line support to the key-users. Participating in other projects to represent your domain is also part of this role.
To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:
6. A Master’s degree in a relevant academic field, combined with a solid experience as a data engineer, preferably in a multinational environment.
7. Profound experience working on Databricks (on AWS), combined with an expertise in setting up ELT structure.
8. Excellent knowledge of Python, SQL or similar programming languages.
9. You have the ability to define clear objectives for data analytics and reporting initiatives, combined with strong communication skills to support change, raise awareness of risks, and effectively manage stakeholders across the business.
10. You bring a flexible and proactive mindset, with a drive to continuously improve processes and ways of working. Your initiative, accuracy, creativity, and resilience under pressure enable you to deliver high quality results in a dynamic environment.
11. Fluency in English and a good command of Dutch.
