Job Description Assist in the preparation of meals for staff, students and visitors. Ensure that the workspace is tidy and clean and that the service is organised in accordance with environmental, safety, quality and hygiene regulations. Prepare/cook meals and drinks Prepare food, cook and plate up and/or package meals (soup, sandwiches, hot meals, desserts, etc.) Clear tables and clean dishes, workspace, tables and bins Ensure that equipment (e.g. oven, cooker, fridge, etc.) is in good working order and well maintained Provide canteen service Serves sandwiches and meals of the day Assess remaining availability in terms of number of meals based on online or canteen orders Serve drinks, snacks, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. during coffee breaks and lunch Collects payment in the canteen using the batch payment system or cash Deliver the contents of the cash register to the administration department Provides food and beverage service for special occasions Prepares rooms for various meetings (management committee, customer visits, etc.), prepares and sets up coffee/drinks/biscuits in the rooms Prepares meals and tracks orders for guests, sets the table for clients if necessary Transport meal and beverage trays to conference rooms. Clear dishes and clean tables in meeting rooms Prepares and serves drinks and food at special events (start of the academic year, commercial events, etc.) Job requirements Good knowledge of commercial catering in accordance with applicable safety, quality and hygiene standards Experience in the hospitality sector (preparation and service) Knowledge of French (and/or Dutch) and basic command of English We offer A permanent full-time contract An attractive salary package, including pension-, hospitalization- and dental insurances, as well as other fringe benefits.
