We seek to appoint a motivated intern to join the Digital Economy & Technologies team. The recruited intern is expected to gain experience with the delivery of research studies, data collection methodologies, and a range of policy and technology areas, including AI, Cloud-Edge-IoT (including computing metrics and data centre operations), and the greening of the IT sector. The recruited intern may also get experience with one or more of the following areas: extended reality, digital market regulation and smart cities. Technopolis Group is leading and contributing to a wide range of projects for the European Commission (such as DG CNECT, DG REFORM and DG RTD), European Parliament, ESPON, OECD, as well as national and regional governments and agencies, business associations and public private partnerships in Europe and beyond, on topics covering the uptake of digital technologies and digital transition of public and private sectors. Your profile
We are looking for a profile who possess an educational background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Statistician, Economics, or related field.
Beyond the educational background, this position requires the applicant to have:
* Interest in new policy and technology developments, including in at least one and potentially more of the following technology areas:
o Artificial Intelligence (incl. AI Factories, AI ethics)
o Computing infrastructure: Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum; computing metrics; data centre operations, federated computing
o Connectivity
o Cybersecurity
o Extended reality (XR) and virtual environments
o Digital - Green - Digital transition
o Interoperability
o Quantum technologies

Additionally, we are seeking a candidate with can-do attitude, with a sharp eye to detail and with strong teamwork skills.
Your responsibilities
To support ongoing research studies with potential involvement in the following activities:
* Conduct desk research, assist in literature reviews, and draft case studies on topics related to tech areas previously listed.
* Support in quantitative data collection strategies, data treatment, preliminary analysis.
* Support in sampling design and developing and implementing surveys.
* Support in scheduling and carrying out interviews with stakeholders (e.g. Data Centres, AI Factories, ICT/IT firms, public authorities, academics).
* Support in editing/formatting, layout and administrative tasks in projects (e.g. formatting of reports/studies and case studies).
* Support in the organisation of workshops and working groups, online and on-site.
* Support communication activities (monitoring the content, drafting articles, managing online content, contacting content sources, etc.).
