You have preferentially a master degree in Biology, Bio-engineering, Veterinary or similar.You have obtained a PhD in a relevant field or you obtain an equivalent level through experience.You have significant research experience in the domain.You have experience in working with farm animals and have a FELASA B certificate.You are an expert in the field of animal nutrition and production.You manage research projects, from proposal to implementation, with a focus on innovation and contemporary topics related to the transition of the sector towards sustainable animal production and novel applications in feed, food, valorization of side streams and emission issues. You set the strategy, you are responsible for the contract-based research focusing on sustainable animal production, and you manage the related research activities at TRANSfarm.You represent in person the newly established animal production unit of TRANSfarm:You detect internal and external opportunities and initiate joined research projects as well as industrial contract-based research; You actively explore funding opportunities via national and international funding programs and partners and take charge of its coordination; You enhance thevisibility and outreach of TRANSfarm and ensure an expansion of the current network of industrial partners; You are responsible for setting up and implementing a quality control program; You are responsible for the data management and you participate in scientific publications; Together with the valorisation manager, you are responsible for the valorisation of research results in your field.TRANSfarm KU Leuven is a modern research facility which focusses on different research domains within a circular bio-economy.
