Purpose of the job
Lead the design and specification of a system or a sub‑system, complementing the system designer role.
Responsibilities
Member of the program engineering team.
Apply processes, methods and tools referenced by the program plans.
Support the Program Development Manager in identifying technical risks and defining the development strategy.
Under the Program Development Manager’s control, collaborate with System Designers to ensure quality, consistency, and on‑time delivery of the design and specification.
Lead and participate in system design and specifications, defining the system architecture and applying System Engineering techniques.
Develop conceptual designs, integrate end‑users, experts and CCN recommendations, ensure design for testability, cybersecurity, RAM and safety; provide interface resolution and management.
Conduct technical reviews and decisions.
Produce structured system specifications, develop and integrate RAM, safety, cybersecurity, subsystem, software, hardware and V&V needs; manage modelling and requirements writing, traceability.
Apply verification methods, including document reviews and peer reviews.
Manage configuration and interfaces with the System Application Architect for projects and tenders.
Prepare program/project documents such as training material and user manuals.
Participate in material selection and procurement activities as required for system delivery.
Alert and report on events or risks that may impact system development.
Participate in the program CCB.
Keep informed of technology evolution through technological watch.
Contribute to continuous improvement (REX: Return of Experience, process, workload estimations/metrics).
Support workload estimations for system design deliverables.
Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Engineer Degree – mandatory
Master Degree – desirable
Certification in System Engineering – desirable
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience in system métier (project or program) – mandatory
Alstom internal Training Advanced System Architect Program (ASAP) – mandatory
Knowledge of the railway program domain – mandatory
Alstom internal Training Advanced System Architect Program (ASAP) – desirable
Specific domain knowledge (signalling, ATLAS, Metro systems, ATP, ITCS, etc.) – desirable
