GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for sales operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving membership growth for Independent Agents, agencies, and Field Marketing Organizations (FMOs). Executes strategies to meet sales and regulatory objectives, leading and motivating a team of independent agents to achieve targets, maintain operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional client service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Implements sales strategies and initiatives to drive new business generation, ensures high member retention, and consistently meets or exceeds established monthly and annual sales targets for the General Insurance Agency (GIA) line of business.
Establishes detailed work plans for each initiative, consisting of the corresponding implementation phases, the projected dates for the fulfillment of each step or phase, the process owners, and the documentation of the status of each step or phase, among other business requirements.
Directs and monitors the sales force execution of Independent Agents, agencies, and/or FMOs, and their administrative staff.
Analyzes and reports monthly sales results and key performance indicators (KPI's) to the direct supervisor and/or senior-level management to support informed decision-making.
Leads recurring recruitment efforts of independent agents to expand the network of qualified independent agents, ensuring continuous growth.
Designs incentive programs to motivate the sales force and promote specific production behavior, presents the programs to the direct supervisor and/or senior-level management for approval.
Prepares sales projections and submits proposals for the allocation of points of sale and sales activities.
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify business opportunities and implement membership sales strategies, focusing on product positioning, service excellence, and long-term member retention.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises, monitors, trains, evaluates, and corrects personnel among others to comply with his/her role as a supervisor, to assure that his/her personnel fulfill their work plan and comply with their essential functions and that they behave following the policies, standards, norms, and procedures of the Company.
Must comply fully and consistently with all company policies and procedures, with local and federal laws as well as with the regulations applicable to our Industry, to maintain appropriate business and employment practices.
May carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned, according to the requirements of education and experience contained in this document.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, or a related field. At least five (5) years of experience performing role-related tasks such as managing independent agents, sales projections, and Life and Disability Insurance experience. Including at least two (2) years of experience supervising personnel, preferably within the Health Insurance
Industry.
Certifications / Licenses: A valid Life and Disability Insurance Agent License and Health Services License, issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, is required. (Unlicensed candidates or those with a provisional license are accepted. If not licensed, candidates must commit to becoming certified by passing the examination provided by the Commissioner of Insurance on their first attempt.) Other: Knowledge of health insurance products and market trends is required.
