We are looking for a Linux System Administrator ( minimum 4 years of experience) to join our client, a state government agency.
You will own, manage, and maintain the infrastructure and database environments supporting our client, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise and support the monitoring and remediation of a blended technology environment
* Design, create, and implement new infrastructure configurations when required
* Maintain and repair hardware in both primary and disaster recovery data centers
* Manage storage and connectivity: Configure A–B–C connectivity / Connect servers and storage with the correct paths
* Perform disk extensions, allocate volumes, and manage storage capacity
* Ensure performance, speed, and fluidity of storage and system access
* Configure and manage SAN switches and zoning, up to LinuxONE mainframe environments
* Coordinate and manage Support Engineers to remediate software defects and application issues
* Independently troubleshoot system issues and establish call bridges with relevant stakeholders until resolution
* Track, document, and resolve incidents using the ticketing system; identify and escalate priority issues
* Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience as a System Administrator, with advanced skills in zLinux (RHEL)
* Solid understanding of storage systems, SAN environments, and disk management
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English knowledge of French or Dutch is an advantage
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Check_MK, Icinga, or equivalent
* Strong interest in automation of recurring tasks (e.g. RHEL Satellite, Ansible Automation Platform) and proper documentation
* Willingness and ability to learn and grow in a zLinux environment
* Industry certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are a plus
