Senior Fire Safety Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our team in the framework of nuclear power station projects.
Main Responsibilities
* Risk Analysis: Conduct and/or review risk analyses (fire/explosion/internal flooding) in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, and internal methodologies.
* Calculations and Modeling: Conduct and/or review calculations and modeling.
* Analysis and Recommendations: Conduct and/or review analyses in accordance with applicable methodologies and identify appropriate and pragmatic recommendations that meet the needs of the project and the client.
* Scenario Definition: Define scenarios and assumptions, select the correct models, collect and implement data in the model, perform calculations, and analyze results.
* Fire Protection/Detection Resources: Validate the consistency between required and existing fire protection/detection resources.
* Project Requirements: Include requirements from other trades (HVAC, GC, EI&C, etc.), project safety guidelines, unit safety reports, insurers, codes, norms, and regulations.
* Study Validation: Verify compliance of the study with the on-site situation, include feedback, and prepare high-quality reports.
* On-Site Modifications: Determine and recommend appropriate on-site modifications (protection/detection means).
* Presentation: Present analyses and conclusions to the Client.
* Stakeholder Management: Manage interfaces and ensure effective communication between various stakeholders.
* Junior Engineer Coaching: Coach junior engineers and monitor subcontracted studies/simulations.
* Project Planning: Ensure that the budget, planning, and scope of studies are consistent with project requirements.
* Techincal Meetings: Assist the Project Manager and the Owner in technical meetings and discussions with the Safety Authorities.
* SPOC/Fire Safety Engineer: Be the SPOC/Fire Safety Engineer contact for a large program, project, or client site.
Requirements
* Civil Engineering Diploma: Civil Engineer diploma (Mechanical engineer, Fire safety Engineer, Nuclear Engineer is an asset) - Master 2 Fire engineering is an asset.
* Experience: 10 Years of proven experience in Fire engineering.
* Leadership Skills: Capacity to assume responsibilities, take initiative, coach/follow-up people, and work autonomously.
* Teamwork: Team player and capacity to develop personal contacts, good listener, and communicator. Experience in industry.
* Language Skills: Good language skills: French and English (and Dutch for Belgium workplace is an asset).
* Computer Skills: Good computer and data process skills.
* Reporting: Ability to draft reports, technical papers, and synthesis documents.
* Mindset: Inquiring and critical mind, dynamic, rigorous, pragmatic, team-player.
* Nuclear Safety Clearance: Nuclear Safety Clearance needed.
