ISO 26262 Compliance Specialist - Embedded Software
Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and reliability of software in automotive systems?
This role requires a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of ISO 26262 compliance strategies across the Embedded Software cluster. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for guiding software architects, developers, and verification engineers to ensure that safety standards are embedded throughout all projects' development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Define safety activities, methodologies, and integrate the safety plan into the SW development plan, including support towards Development Interface Agreement (DIA).
- Ensure the software development plan aligns with ISO 26262 requirements and is consistently followed across all projects.
- Provide guidance on Functional Safety KPIs (e.g., permissible software complexity per ASIL level).
- Support internal and external software audits and assessments and maintain overall compliance together with the Functional Safety Manager (including TG reviews) for all relevant projects within ESW cluster.
- Collaborate on customer assessments and audits as the ESW safety representative.
- Derive SSR (safety SW requirements) from the TSC in cooperation with the Functional Safety Architect / Manager.
- Define, maintain, and enforce processes which require to be compliant for ISO26262.
- Specify and implement software safety mechanisms based on safety analysis and TSC inputs.
- Interface with the Basic Software (BSW) supplier, including requirements specification and deliverable qualification.
- Lead safety case activities throughout the ESW V-model, including tool qualification and documentation support.
- Provide and defend ESW content for the safety case.
- Escalate compliance deviations to the Cluster Leader and/or Functional Safety Manager.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Embedded SW development and design.
- Extensive knowledge of ISO26262-6, DFA, FTA, and SW-FMEA practices.
- Experienced with automotive software development models and standards (e.g., ASPICE).
- Strong understanding of software architecture and ability to assess implications for safety.
- Proficient in static and dynamic code analysis methodologies and tools.
- Experience in agile development environments, with the ability to define and manage own workload.
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR and interpreting Safety Manuals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- TUV Süd certification (ISO26262 Functional Safety Professional) is a plus.
