For our
ABB E-Mobility Software Development Center
located in Hasselt (Belgium)—which is responsible for developing and maintaining the
software that shapes the user experience on our DC EV chargers
—we are looking for a
R&D Testing & Lab Specialist
. You will be part of an agile team in a large organization, focusing on the business logic on an edge device that controls the power domain. This device interacts with the end user through a screen, RFID reader, payment terminal, and other interfaces—ensuring a seamless charging experience. You will also test the corresponding cloud services that configure and manage these edge devices.
Your Responsibilities
* Test automation: Contribute to and enhance our existing automated testing platform.
* Test plans: Develop detailed test plans, define test approaches, and outline verification and validation strategies.
* Test execution: Perform both manual and automated testing on the edge device, cloud components, and supporting services.
* Test case definition: Define and maintain test cases for validation, and carry out test case execution.
Your Background
* A bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, with a solid background in software testing.
* Experience in Playwright and Appium for UI-driven test automation.
* Proven experience in software testing and in automating tests.
* Familiarity with API testing (e.g., REST-based services).
* Hands-on experience in test automation of applications.
* Exposure to modern cloud-based development and operational environments (Azure) is a plus.
* Experience with Python/TypeScript/Raspberry Pi is a plus.
* ISTQB certification is a plus.
* Strong verbal communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
* A collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving, results-oriented, and teamwork skills in an international context.
