We’re Hiring: Senior Scientist – Bioinformatics (Microbiome Focus)
Are you someone who loves turning complex multi-omics data into meaningful biological insight? Do you get excited about shaping the next generation of microbiome-based therapeutics? If so, this could be a great opportunity for you.
We’re a growing biotech developing innovative microbial therapies, and we’re looking for a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist who wants to make a real impact, someone who enjoys building pipelines, challenging ideas, and driving discovery forward.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role offers a lot of variety and ownership. On a typical day, you might be:
* Working on multi-omics datasets from preclinical models, cohort studies, or microbial therapeutic programs
* Organizing, curating, and analyzing large omics datasets, then translating them into clear insights for the wider team
* Maintaining and improving genome assembly, annotation, and bioinformatics workflows
* Developing new approaches for functional prediction and host–microbiome interaction analysis
* Creating interactive R Shiny tools to help colleagues explore and interpret data
* Introducing new algorithms, improving existing methods, and keeping us aligned with the state of the art
* Contributing to scientific communication and supporting IP-related work
You’ll collaborate closely with wet-lab researchers, computational biologists, and project leaders.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and an enthusiastic, inquisitive mindset:
* A PhD in bioinformatics (or a related field) with around 5+ years of experience
* A solid track record in microbiome analysis and microbial genomics
* Strong programming skills in Python, R, shell scripting, and Git
* Experience working with cloud-based data environments
* The ability to communicate complex analyses clearly and effectively
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving workflows
* Experience with metabolomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, or variant calling is a plus
* Experience mentoring or guiding others is also a plus
What You’ll Get
* A role where your work directly influences scientific direction and therapeutic development
* The chance to grow in a dynamic, supportive environment
* Opportunities to innovate and introduce new ideas
* Competitive compensation aligned with your skills and experience
