Senior CAD Drafter (2D) – Electrical & Technical Design

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior CAD Drafter (2D) to support the design and development of technical solutions within a highly regulated and safety-driven environment. This role involves creating detailed technical drawings, electrical schematics, and design documentation to meet operational and project requirements.
You will play a key role in translating concepts into accurate execution drawings while ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop technical solutions (tools, systems, electrical circuits, layouts)
* Prepare and analyze design assignments, including gathering missing data
* Interpret sketches, drawings, and perform on-site measurements
* Produce detailed drawings using specialized CAD/design software
* Create electrical schematics (e.g., P&IDs, installation and layout drawings)
* Perform technical calculations (e.g., strength calculations, cable sizing)
* Select appropriate materials and components based on technical and safety requirements
* Maintain and manage drawing databases and documentation lifecycle (design as-built)
* Contribute to technical specifications and ensure compliance during design phases
* Prepare technical construction files and documentation
* Support internal teams and external stakeholders with technical expertise
* Handle supplier interactions and technical queries
* Assist in preparing CE, MOC, and construction dossiers
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
* Strong experience in 2D CAD drafting
* Knowledge of the following tools and domains:
o AutoCAD, EPLAN, Caneco
o Electrical systems and instrumentation
o Automation hardware
o Fiber optics and data communication
o AREI regulations
* Experience with technical drawing software and engineering calculations
* Understanding of safety standards in complex or regulated environments
* BA4 certification is an advantage
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented mindset
Languages
* Dutch: Native or bilingual proficiency
Additional Information
* Candidates with knowledge of compliance documentation (CE, MOC) are highly valued
* Experience in high-safety or industrial environments is a strong plus
