Director of Nursing, Skilled Nursing Facility

2. Salary Range Based on Experience $118,250.00-$137,500.00
Exceptional resident care begins with exceptional leadership. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join a team at in Waterloo, NY. The DON will lead and inspire our nursing team, ensuring high-quality care, compliance, and a supportive environment for both staff and residents.
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for ensuring that personal and group performance aligns with the principles of a Healing Environment. This includes designing and implementing systems for effective work allocation, communication, resource management, and staff development. The DON fosters engagement through clear expectations, critical thinking, and supportive leadership, while maintaining compliance with long-term care regulations and organizational standards.

Education
6. Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
7. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
License/Certifications
8. Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license
Experience
9. Minimum: Three to five years of managerial experience
10. Minimum: Three to five years of experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting
11. Preferred: Broad knowledge base of LTC regulations
Other Qualifications
12. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department leaders, and the public in a professional, courteous manner
13. Ability to remain effective under stress and handle confidential information with discretion
14. Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster staff empowerment, accountability, and growth
