Overview

EMEA Medical Affairs Director, Evidence Strategy, based in EMEA. Leads the regional strategic evidence generation process across the lifecycle in the Janssen pipeline to support rapid, optimal market access and differentiation versus competitors.

Reports directly to the ESO Medical Excellence Senior Director, EMEA Operational Excellence Strategy. Builds and coordinates an end-to-end evidence generation strategy for EMEA on Medical and Access aspects.

Key Responsibilities

* Establish a clear cross-TA process and operating model for Evidence Generation short to long term plans and the EMEA Integrated Evidence Generation and Dissemination Plan.
* Lead regional IEGP process for the EMEA region: train IBVT and CVT teams on responsibilities and deliverables; organize and chair IEGP strategy (Q1) and tactics (Q2) reviews; establish prioritization for ESO EG investments; present consolidated plans and seek endorsement from leadership bodies (ESLT, ELT).
* Coordinate EMEA contribution to WW IEGP process: align deliverables and optimize impact for EMEA.
* Work with VP MAF and VP HEMAR to agree and finalize the above.
* Oversee communication and rollout of EMEA plans involving key stakeholders at regional, local, and global levels.
* Identify and collate with key stakeholders a core set of evidence deliverables and timelines that create value for EMEA.
* Incorporate competitive insights cross-TA via new CI tools (Insight Miner) in conjunction with CDS.
* Design and track medical and business impact of EMEA IEGP.
* Establish collaboration model with EMEA HEMAR team and MAF TA teams with clear roles and responsibilities.
* Strengthen engagement and processes with key countries to ensure input; identify opportunities to strengthen EMEA input into core company processes (early CDP shaping, TPP development, regulatory filing discussions).
* Continuously assess the need for new organizational capabilities or resources to support cross-TA evidence strategy development; input into processes such as long-range financial planning.

Essential Knowledge & Skills

* Extensive Pharmaceutical background with a regional mindset and the ability to assimilate complex science and data quickly. A higher scientific degree (e.g., PhD or MD) is desirable.
* Behaviors aligned to the Johnson & Johnson Global Leadership Profile including integrity, collaboration, urgency, results orientation, and people development.
* Travel up to 10% is required.
* Fluency in English is required; fluency in additional EMEA languages is an advantage.

Experience

* Minimum 8 years of progressive Medical Affairs experience with a proven track record of leadership across teams and functions.
* Experience with R&D programs and the development of commercial and evidence generation strategy.
* More than 5 years of experience generating Evidence Generation plans and more than 5 years planning and executing Medical Education plans.

The role is EMEA-based and may involve extensive travel. The role holder should be based in their current country of residence with access to JJIM offices for hosting and travel. This role is available across multiple countries and may be posted under different requisition numbers to comply with local requirements.
