For our client, a leading telecommunications provider in Belgium, we are looking for an experienced System Engineer to strengthen their infrastructure and workplace team.ResponsibilitiesOversee and maintain both end-user environments and datacenter systems.Diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing support on-site and remotely during incidents.Carry out preventive maintenance across satellite offices in Belgium, both locally and remotely.Deliver 3rd line support as part of a rotation at the customer’s headquarters.Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to implement projects and improve existing systems.Support the rollout of new technologies that align with business needs.Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements through scripting.Safeguard system and data security.Produce and maintain documentation of technical specifications, procedures, and processes.Keep systems current by monitoring market trends and evaluating emerging technologies.ProfileStrong proficiency in Dutch and French (mandatory), with good knowledge of English.Proven experience as a System Engineer, Workplace Engineer, or similar role.Hands-on expertise in automation, scripting, DevOps, middleware, and virtualization.Practical knowledge of one or more relevant technologies: VMWare, Nutanix, Windows Server, Windows OS, PowerShell, NetApp storage.Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to resolve incidents within SLA.Capable of reading, drafting, and implementing technical designs.A proactive and positive team player who can manage priorities independently and meet deadlines.Strong customer-oriented mindset, essential due to regular client interaction.Solid understanding of modern network and security standards.Eager to learn continuously, enhance personal expertise, and mentor L1/L2 colleagues.Open and flexible attitude towards mission-critical activities.Must meet NVO security clearance requirements: domiciled in Belgium for at least 5 years and provide a clean criminal record.
