The organization operates in a highly international and fast-paced environment, working closely with European institutions, media, and industry stakeholders.
Job Description
As Freelance head of communications & public affairs, you will:
* Lead and execute the communication and public affairs strategy
* Manage media relations, press outreach, and communication with journalists in Belgium and at the European level
* Prepare speeches, talking points, and key messaging for the CEO and Deputy CEO
* Oversee the drafting and distribution of press releases and communication materials
* Supervise and manage the communication team (3 junior staff members + 1 trainee)
* Supervise communication campaigns and major events
* Manage the CEO's media agenda and visibility strategy
* Support the preparation of reports and publications for member associations
The Successful Applicant
As Freelance head of communications & public affairs, you have:
* Strong experience in communications within the banking or financial sector
* Proven experience in public affairs, ideally involving European institutions
* Solid network and understanding of media in Belgium and Brussels
* Experience managing teams (important for this role)
* Excellent writing and executive communication skills (speeches, statements, press materials)
* Fluent English required (international environment)
