About the job
As our Lead Finance & Operations, you will drive financial success and operational excellence. You will join our Leadership team and report to the Group CFO. Collaborating with the Director of Product & Technology and the People Business Partner, your main tasks will include delivering concise management reports, monitoring cash flow and working capital, and aligning performance with budget and forecasts. You will oversee an external accountant responsible for daily bookkeeping.
Besides November Five as your focus, you will also manage the financial performance and tax structure of the Group, including holding companies and real estate, and contribute to the finance activities of our venture, Spencer. On an ad-hoc basis you will support corporate transactions (mergers, due diligence, etc).
Key responsibilities
* Financial strategy & management: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with our company goals, optimizing financial health to support growth and independence of November Five.
* Controlling, budgeting & forecasting: Lead budgeting with the Leadership team, providing accurate forecasts for decision-making and strategic planning, and analyze budget vs. actuals.
* Accounting oversight: Supervise the external accountant and take responsibility for quarterly VAT filings and statutory annual accounts.
* Operational effectiveness: Enhance and execute administrative processes in Finance, Legal, Compensation & Benefits, and Fleet to ensure efficiency.
* Compliance & risk management: Ensure legal compliance and manage financial and operational risks.
* Project controlling: Collaborate with Product Managers to maximize financial project performance and ensure proper revenue recognition.
* Financial analysis & reporting: Communicate financial insights and risks to stakeholders, including leadership, the board, and shareholders, to ensure a shared understanding of the company's financial position.
Requirements
* Proven experience in financial management, financial controlling, within a (global) consulting or professional services environment.
* Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
* Have a good notion of Belgian accounting principles, VAT and tax.
* Familiarity with modern and digital accounting tools and processes, such as Exact Online, BrightAnalytics, etc. are a big plus.
* Pragmatic self-starter with the ability to maintain structure and focus in a high-paced and volatile environment.
* Outstanding leadership and communication skills, collaborating across departments and roles.
* Commitment to the company's values and passion for enhancing partner experience through operational excellence.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
