Director – R&D Programs & Portfolio at imec
Drive and streamline imec’s offering and business execution across the different market sectors.
What you will do
In this role you will support the Executive VP R&D Programs & Portfolio in setting up and executing the imec strategy and offerings across market sectors. You will help sector management teams develop and shape strategy, monitor KPIs and P&L, provide functional alignment, and work with senior leaders to align the portfolio with business strategy.
Responsibilities
Consolidate business planning and execution across all sectors and business organization.
Support sector management teams on deployment and execution of budgets, business plans, strategic plans, go‑to‑market plans, and P&L management.
Provide direction for uniform decision‑making using transparent investment criteria and business processes.
Monitor KPIs and establish uniform reporting across sectors.
Align with finance, executive committee, and other support functions for consistency.
Manage regular VP‑level staff meetings and interactions with PoM Heads.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in portfolio management execution.
Support change management to reinforce a matrix organization with clear accountability.
Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration and communication across sectors.
Oversee planning and execution of key initiatives, monitor risks and outcomes.
Analyze data to support decision making and problem solving.
Assist in communicating strategic direction and priorities.
Ensure timely follow‑up on actions and decisions.
Qualifications
PhD in engineering, physics, information technology or related field and a solid business background; MBA preferred.
10–15 years of experience in product marketing, strategy, business development or a similar role in a high‑tech environment.
Deep understanding of key market segments and portfolio management.
Strong business analytics, financial tools and innovation‑management skills.
Analytical, strategic, inspirational multi‑tasker who is decisive and sets priorities effectively.
High initiative, proactivity, ownership; ability to work independently and under pressure.
Proven track record of managing complex strategic projects and initiatives.
Excellent communication skills in English; ability to influence stakeholders at executive level.
