You will join a legal team, composed of 4 persons and based in Louvain-La-Neuve, in a role as Senior Advisor to Carmeuse's EMEA operations. You will report to the Group Head of Legal.
The Carmeuse EMEA legal advisor's role is to legally safeguard and maximize its various business interests and to help ensure it complies with applicable laws, regulations and standards of the Carmeuse Group. These are your main responsibilities:
* Support various departments (with a particular focus on business development – incl. projects, sales, procurement and capex) at the level of Carmeuse EMEA in relation to their respective contractual requirements.
* Proactively address with the business teams legislative initiatives which may impact Carmeuse EMEA's operations.
* Make sure that Carmeuse corporate legal standards are followed by operations in EMEA while respecting local obligations.
* Provide legal advice and guidance to the business teams across EMEA region on commercial and operational issues that may generally arise in an industrial environment.
* Coordinate corporate housekeeping matters throughout Carmeuse EMEA.
* Coordination and follow-up of major litigations across Carmeuse EMEA.
* Supervise local legal advisors.
* Liaise and coordinate with external relationships as desired. Be the appropriate and natural interface between the business teams and these relationships.
* Participation in digitalization initiatives.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS (Education, Experiences, Softskills)
* Legal degree (commercial law, civil law).
* Minimum 5-7 years' experience in similar position within an industrial and international environment or practice in civil/commercial law with a law firm.
* Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English.
* Rigorous.
* Persistent and perseverant.
* Customer focus (internal).
* Solution/business oriented.
* Good analytical skills coupled with good judgment skills.
* Able to work in cross functional and multi-cultural team.
* Responsible.
* Excellent communication skills – persuasive.
